Katan was ready for the moment that Alian fell, the Rat Bastards chosen had fallen a few minutes earlier, Katan knew this was due to the weakness of the halfling that RB had appointed to fall. Then he heard Storm - the nice guy who had volunteered to referee the Dun'ilsar - yell "Go!!!". Katan dashed for the door of Troilus's hut, southward into town, and then southeast toward east field.

He glanced around him while he was running, just behind him was Bor and Nightfall, and following close was one of the enemy, Mug. He reached the fence and quickly hopped over it, then sprinted toward the east field bridge. A voice sounded in his head, it was Bor "Hinder Mug". Thinking quickly he stopped, and bumped into Mug. Mug cursed and dodged past Katan, Katan regained his balance and charged after Mug, intent on delaying him.

They were about to reach east forest, Katan knew he had to stop Mug before they reached the tunnel. He let out a burst of speed and caught up with Mug, pulling him and jumping into the tunnel after Bor. When the climbed out of the other side of the tunnel, they saw Mug had not followed them through.

Soon they were at north pass, a wendecka jumped off the rocks to the west of him and Katan fell hard. Katan's legendary Main gauche flashed in the light, and the wendecka fell. He then ran deeper into the mountain pass, he turned and started to head east toward the village of the greymyr where Alian had fallen. Katan winced, and his spirit shook, Bor had fallen "Bor, gotta save Bor!

Katan came over the top of a small hill, down in the valley he saw what he most dreaded, this incursion into the village of the greymyr had angered them.

What looked like 50 of the huge rock creatures were running around followed by their wendecka pets. Katan ran down into the valley that was the home of the greymyr, trying to find the passage to their chief. He ducked as a huge bolder flew over his head, looking up he saw one of the Rat Bastards healers, Snowdrop running from two white wendeckas and a greymyr. I've got ya he though running after her, grabbed her, and then threw her at the greymyr. She took a hard hit, screeched and ran in the opposite direction.

People were falling left and right, a few feet away he saw his clan brother Rel'lim smashed to the ground by a pack of Myrs. He couldn't help Rel, so he ran towards the chief, where the fallen were. Right inside was Einstein, the Bastard's fallen, Alian was no where in sight. A Rat healer jumped down the slope near the fallen, Katan glared at him. "Stay back!" he shouted, then charged at the Thoom.

A great pushing fight ensued, as Katan franticly tried to stop the Rat's moonstone from touching Einstein. But soon Einstein was up, but look, what was that? It was Alian running up out of the area in good health! Katan gave the Rat bastard's halfling a kick, then ran after Alian. He glanced around, Einstein was running just behind him, dripping with blood. "He's almost dead" Katan thought as he dodged a flying rock. The Halfling Einstein ran southward, thinking nothing of the rocklike hulk standing in his path. It hit him, he flew about 10 feet, and lay still.

Katan ran north, the Myrs were very mad now, and tons of them were swarming around him. He jumped between ones huge legs and made a dash toward the northern exit from the valley. There along side a out cropping of rock was Javelin, badly hurt his left arm broken beyond comprehension. He couldn't get just leave him, so Katan grabbed his chain from where it was strapped to the side of his pack. He lassoed Jave around the waste and started dragging him out of the valley.

They ran toward the north pass that lead to east forest, "I guess we won't be able to make it in time to let Alian through the paths" he commented to Javelin as they ran. Coming around a bend in the pass they saw the enemy had done a dirty trick, they had planted kudzu, a fast growing thorny plant in the middle of the path out. Katan dropped the chain holding Jave's limp body and started hacking away at the plants, not noticing the big monkeylike shapes approaching him fast. "Look out!" Jave screamed, Katan turned drawing his main gauche and axe. The wendeckas jumped upon him clawing and biting, Katan swung wildly, slashing the back of a night wendecka, but within moments, Katan fell.

The wendeckas scattered for a few minutes, then he saw Alian, followed closly by Garibaldi run by, nodding to the fallen as they past. "Still no sign of the Rat's fallen" He said to Jave, "Turn on your sunstone" commented Jave. They listened for a few minutes at the mental sounds of the Rat Bastards. "Shoot, Alian's lose in northeast forest!" came the sound of Runner. "Crud, I'd call this a game...." Came the responding voice of another bastard. "Hear that?" said Jave, Katan nodded, smiling.

A few moments later they heard the cries of joy on the sunstone, Hunter had won.
