Fellow Hunters,

For those of you who haven't yet heard, we fought nobly in today's dunilsar, but were bested by the SDC. Without whining in the least, they outnumbered the hell out of us: at one point it was ten SDC members blocking the _spirit wood_ exit vs. the four or five of us trying to escape. VS. numbers like that, victory is difficult.

We kept to your plan fairly well for the first 30 minutes or so. However, dogged as we were by the extremely effective Prophet and that wossname dwarf from the start, we moved more slowly than we might have. About 30 minutes or so into the hunt, it seemed as if the entire SDC contingent started following us. I reluctantly dodged everyone, and Bor very ably directed distracting activities of our own. Well, I dodged almost everyone for much of the final 15 minutes or so. :) That Sten kept stumbling on me...

I ran and hunted like a solo madman for the last few minutes, hardly able to keep in touch via ss. When the hunt ended, I was lost in the TW. I DC'd to save the log and was (as Garibaldi so amusingly pointed out) slain by a rat while "away on business."

Given that we had but half the clan, and given that we were outnumbered by more than 2/1, we did damn good, people. SDC's skilled blocking activities cost us access to certain areas, and the swarm of 'em kept at leat two critters out of my hands that I know of--they slew a spriggan and a bloodhawk before I could get there.

Should we Hunt again, we should try harder to negotiate a time when more of us can come. We must absolutely use blockers against the other side--if only to keep some of them near their hunter as defenders. And we might benefit from practicing anti-blocking techniques: I was certain I was behind the SDC folks in "learning curve" when it came to the pull and block game at chokepoints.

Some highlights: SDC clan decoyed all the way to OC, while I remained in east forest. Early on, SDC blockers helped more than they hindered, especially in the south forest and meshra cave. That Sten was a hoot--played the whole blocker role with tongue firmly in cheek, kept saying hello as if we'd just met. And if I do say so, we had a little tussle in north pass where my death-dealing abilities came to the forefront, as I escaped two traps set by Merlisk by two-stroking ww's. I'd dodge, get pulled next to two wendies, whack whack kill one of 'em and move on...did that twice. Left 'em jaw hanging...maybe they've got a movie?

Well, folks, thanks again for all your support. I'm sure it was a bit confusing for the helpers there at the end--I apologize. I really wished for a clan only ss channel right then--I couldn't broadcast without giving away my location, and I had a hard time keeping up communication with Bor, much less all of you....
