Clan Hunter - Newcomer's Guide

Welcome to a life of exile, newcomer! First of all, you'd better get some things straight. This isn't the mainland, all comfy and warm with all the food you can eat. This ain't a place where you sleep with the door unlocked. You've been dumped, courtesy of the Mad One himself (oh, yes, we call him that here, right in the open!), on an island that is just about as forsaken a place as there is in the known world.

Why were you exiled? Doesn't matter. Maybe back home you were a rip-roarin' rebel. Maybe you just crossed the wrong guy, and got on a list by "accident." Hell, maybe you're a damn Imperial spy, sent to keep tabs on us exiles, or maybe you're a Darshak plant. Yes, the Darshaks are lurking 'round these parts. Watch yourself at night, newcomer.

Get used to some new facts of life. First off, you'll notice everyone around here runs like the dickens. It'll take you a few weeks to get your legs toughened up. Before you know it, you'll be sprinting everywhere you go, too. Second, the wildlife around here is vicious, some might say supernaturally so. Critters grow fast, mean, and nasty, and almost all of 'em will take a leg off you quicker 'n you can squeal "constable!" Speaking of cops, we have a court system, 'cause we're not total barbarians, but whatever you used to do for a living? Forget about it. You're going to have to learn a new way to make your way in the world.

We in Clan Hunter—yes, we have Clans right out in the open here too—have collaborated on these scrolls. Read them and learn a little bit about our "island paradise." At some time in your future you will likely choose one of three professions—Fighter, Healer, or Apprentice Mystic. You might also choose to remain profession-less, but that's a hard choice. These scrolls offer our experiences for your review. Perhaps they will show you a way you'd like to go with your new life here in the Lok' Groton island chain.
